The Tarago River Cheese Company is a family owned and run business that was founded in 1982 by the Jensen and Johnson families. Located at Neerim South in Victoria’s Gippsland region next to the Tarago River, the dairy sources milk from its own herd of 400 Friesian Holstein cows.

Named after original cheese maker Laurie Jensen, the distinctively dusty orange rind on this cheese develops as a result of being washed regularly.

Matured in humid cellars, the cheese has a soft, supple texture and a mild creamy flavour with a hint of yeast.
