Délice des Deux-Sèvres
Délice des Deux-Sèvres
The Poitou-Charentes region in the west of France is known to be the cradle of French goat cheese production. Délice des Deux-Sèvres is named for the department within the region where it is produced by a family owned dairy ‘Poitou-Chevre’, Deux-Sèvres literally means "two rivers": the Sèvre Nantaise and the Sèvre Niortaise have their sources in this department.
This cheese is made in an oval shape and has a salted charcoal coating making it a standout on a cheese board. The interior is smooth and pristine white with a fine granular texture.
A young Délice des Deux-Sèvres has a fresh, ‘citrusy’ tang on the palate with nutty and yeasty flavours developing as it matures.
